Lay it All Down
We’re so used to living in our heads. We jump up into our heads early on in life when we get in trouble for things, and we try to figure out how to Be in a way that gets rewarded instead of punished, and that will allow us to fit in instead of getting left out.
We jump from our core up into our heads. And when we do that, we short-circuit the whole system. We build a life from our heads, and what’s “smart,” and what we “should do” to “be a good person,” and to “do the right thing.” And what ends up happening is, we get out of touch with our authenticity. It is only through our authenticity that anything can change, and that we can ever get in touch with what is meant to be for us… and what is meant for us to be.
If we’re trying to be something that we’re not in order to “fit in,” or to “do the right thing,” or to succeed, we’re getting out of touch with who we really are. Being in touch with who we really are is the only thing that can set us free. We have to move from our heads in figuring out who we’re supposed to be, and what we’re supposed to be doing, and what we think others expect of us, and just lay it all down.
It’s a whole lot easier to lay it all down if we tell the mind and, even more importantly, show the mind that there is support here for it. The mind isn’t the only player.
To get out of your head, it is essential to get into your whole body. It’s in your whole body that things heal. It is in your whole body that your magnificence reveals itself.
