You Are the Breath
In meditation, we connect different circuits in our awareness. I would love for you always to have that connection between your mind, the breath, and the body.
We are the breath. The true You is the breath. It’s not the mind, although the mind loves to take that whole identity and run with it. If we can keep our identity apart from the mind, then we are practically home-free in benefiting from any kind of meditative practice.
The number one focus of meditation is to identify the consciousness with its true self, with its essential truth. The very first step that we can take along those lines is to identify ourselves in the body AS the breath.
Am I trying to “find my breath?” Then I am not identified as the breath, but as the mind looking for the breath.
If we are going to be fragmented into these pieces and parts, our job is to layer and marry them, to merge them in the course of our lives. As we do that, we feel reduced stress, lower blood pressure, and increased healing. We experience greater clarity as we begin to get in touch with the divine within.
